National Junior Honor Society
We are preparing to induct students into our National Junior Honor Society for the 2024-2025 school year. NJHS’s focus is community service and giving back. It is also an opportunity to let our students shine with leadership opportunities, as well as recognize their academic achievements.
If your child is interested in joining NJHS, we are asking students to calculate their GPAs first and then ask for an application. The minimum requirement for our GPA requirement is a 90. Your child must also be in good standing with discipline. Good standing includes no referrals for the year and no more than 3 demerits for 1st semester and 1 demerit for 2nd semester. To calculate the GPA, please follow the format listed below. **Please do not use the yearly average category in Schoology. **
How to calculate your GPA for 1st and 2nd quarters:
- Add your Q1 and Q2 grades for all 7 courses.
- Divide this number by 14 to get your GPA.
Applications may be picked up from the following teachers during homeroom-
6th grade- Mrs. Howell
7th grade- Ms. Roberts
8th grade- Mrs. Harbin
