Eagle Eye News- Clark-Shaw's Broadcast

Clark-Shaw Magnet's news elective, Eagle Eye News, is a class where students learn the fundamentals of creating and producing news broadcasts. In this elective, students develop skills in journalism, communication, and media production while working together to create news segments for our school community. The class typically involves hands-on experience with filming, editing, and writing scripts for the newscast. We are expecting to include more student created videos in the newscast next year.

Some key components of the class include learning to research and report on current events, conduct interviews, and present information in an engaging manner. Students gain exposure to cameras, microphones, and editing software. Teamwork, collaboration, leadership, and responsibility are essential to the broadcast class as well.

Students are challenged to create news stories and/or videos that highlight the interests and events of Clark-Shaw Magnet; the class encourages students to use creativity in their presentation of the information.

Our Eagle Eye News elective is designed to give students a practical introduction to the world of media, while fostering communication, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
