Purpose/Goal of the History Team:
Students will learn critical thinking, writing, and research skills. These skills will prepare students for college, career, and citizenship. Students will summarize and articulate arguments, manage their time, and persevere. The confidence gained by participation prepares students to be critical thinkers who can digest, analyze, and synthesize information.
Students will become writers, filmmakers, web designers, playwrights, or exhibit developers as they create unique contemporary expressions of history related to the theme of “Rights and Responsibilities.”
Projects can be entered into the Alabama History Day regional and state contests, with a possibility of reaching the National History Day competition in Maryland in June 2025.
